AIP Supplement for REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA 013/2022

1. General

For the period 18 November 2022 – 19 April 2023 multinational military forces for ENHANCED VIGILANT ACTIONS and ENHANCED AIR POLICING will use temporary established segregated areas for training and other purposes in the Vilnius FIR/UIR of the Republic of Lithuania.

In addition, military activity will be conducted in airspaces published in ENR 5.2 of Lithuania AIP. Details can be found in paragraph 2.

Restriction apply to non-participating traffic.

All times are in UTC.

2. Activity areas

2.1. New Temporary areas

Training areas are plannable H24 unless otherwise specified. Planned use is specified in paragraph 4 and daily via AUP/UUP/NOTAM (EAUP/EUUP).

No flight planning buffer zones (FBZ) are established for temporary areas. The temporary areas description are below:

2.2. Existing areas

The military exercise will also be conducted in the following existing areas as published in Lithuania AIP ENR 5.2:

3. Restrictions

For the temporary areas published in paragraph 2.1, the following temporary EU (FUA) restrictions will be published:

4. Airspace activation schedule

Information on the airspace activation will be published by AUP/UUP/NOTAM day prior to execution of the military exercise/activity.

The Military AMC will execute exercise area bookings. The Military AMC will submit area bookings following the established procedures to Airspace Management Cell (AMC) by e-mail: amc@ans.lt until 08.00 UTC within at least one working day prior to the commencement of the operations.

5. Management of the area

Exercise areas will be managed daily via AUP/UUP.

NOTAMs will be published for the activation of areas as stated in paragraph 2 and Lithuania AIP ENR 5.2.

6. Flight planning information for participating traffic

Participating flights to and from the exercise area will be conducted according to flight plans (FPLs) and will have the will have the remark eVA or eAP in field 18.

7. Flight planning information for non-participating traffic

During areas activation, flight planning through exercise areas for non-participating traffic are not allowed. Real unavailability of ATS route segments, DCTs, FRA and airspace concerned will be notified via EAUP/EUUP. The corresponding restrictions will be activated for flight planning purposes.

8. Communication / Notification

The Aircrews participating in military activity and executing flights in controlled airspace outside the exercise area shall maintain radio communication by VHF radio with the appropriate civil ATC, they are subject to GAT flight rules in accordance with SERA requirements.

The Aircrews participating in the exercise, executing the flights within activated exercise areas shall maintain radio communication with the respectful military control unit.
